Lyricist Irshad Kamil began his journey in Hindi cinema with Chameli, which was released on 9 January in 2004. He went on to write some of the best-loved lyrics of the current generation for films like Jab We Met (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009), Rockstar (2011), Raanjhanaa (2013) and Tamasha (2015). Featuring in episode 8 of Fave 5 With Suparna, the poet, who celebrates 15 glorious years in Hindi cinema, speaks about the story behind his new book, Kaali Aurat Ka Khwab, his winning equation with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and composer Pritam Chakraborty, and writing dance songs with the same earnestness as a love song.
