Yo Yo Honey Singh Biography

Hirdesh Singh, better known as Honey Singh, or even Yo Yo Honey Singh - as a shout-out to his contributions to Indian rap and hip-hop - is a music producer and singer, who has also appeared in Bollywood films. He gained immense popularity and is one of the highest paid music producers in the country. Born in 1983 in Hoshiarpur, within Punjab, he has paid tribute to this heritage with his catchy Punjabi rap lyrics, and adopted it as part of his characteristic style. He studied music at the reputed Trinity School in the United Kingdom, and finally moved to Delhi where his career got a boost. Making his start with college festivals in Delhi, he learned to DJ under the mentorship of DJ Vishal and made his first big break with his Punjabi album International Villager in 2011. One of the songs from this album, Angreji Beat, was featured in the film Cocktail (2012).
With that he gained entry into Bollywood and began to produce music for many commercially successful films such as Chennai Express (2013), and Boss (2013).
He also acted in a few Bollywood films such as The Xpose (2014) aside Himesh Reshammiya and, Zorawar (2015).
Honey Singh has always occupied a controversial space amongst the public, due to the crass nature of his songs. Apart from that, rumours about his mental health and a stint in rehab were not confirmed by Singh himself.
