Sonakshi Sinha has impressed audiences as a simple girl in Dabangg (2010), as a feisty sportswoman in Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014) and as a demure girl in Lootera (2013). The daughter of actors Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha has proved that she is a talented entertainer and here to stay. Born on 2nd June, 1987, she is the youngest of three siblings with older twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha. The Sinha girl completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir, Mumbai and graduated in Fashion Designing from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University, Mumbai. Before taking up acting as a career, she worked as a costume designer for the film 'Mera Dil Leke Dekho (2005). She also walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week 2008 and 2009. She also featured on the cover of Maxim Magazine, India in 2010. Sinha got the opportunity to work opposite superstar Salman Khan in her debut film Dabbang (2010). The film was a hit and her fresh face and performance impressed the audience and the industry bigwigs. After her debut, she was next seen in Prabhu Deva’s Rowdy Rathore (2012) opposite Akshay Kumar. Thereafter, she was a part of many successful films. However, her role in Vikramaditya Motwane’s romantic drama Lootera (2013) took everyone by surprise. Sinha garnered a lot of praise for her portrayal of a girl who is dying of tuberculosis. After a matured and refined performance Sinha signed a lot of projects and received appreciation both critically and commercially in the industry. Sinha also got the opportunity to work with megastar Rajnikanth in the movie Linga (2014). In 2014, she did the voiceover for Jewel in the Hindi-dubbed Rio 2. She had also dubbed for the voice of Tooth in the Hindi version of Rise of the Guardians. She turned singer and came out with a single ‘Aaj mood Ishqholic Hai’ in December 2015. Sinha has impressed with her acting and dancing skills and her fans await her upcoming projects.
