Sherlyn Chopra is a model and Hindi cinema actress, who has made waves over the news and social media for her bold performances and photoshoots, considered uncommon for Indian celebrities. She rose to fame when she did a nude photo-shoot for the Playboy magazine in its July 2012 issue, being the first ever Indian woman to do so. She faced some backlash, however the major publicity she received due to it brought her into the limelight and set off her career. Hailing from Secunderabad, she was born in 1984, and completed her graduation from Saint Ann’s College for Women. She was a known presence in reality TV, as a contestant in the third season of Bigg Boss, as well as a host for MTV’s dating reality show Splitsvilla during season six. She also released a musical single titled “Bad Girl” where she provided vocals and starred in the music video.

Her film career started off in 2002 where she starred in a number of Telugu movies. Her acting roles in Bollywood were small, with movies such as Time Pass (2005), Dosti: Friends Forever (2005), and Jawani Diwani: A Youthful Joyride (2006), none of which were particularly successful. However, in 2009, she was in Dil Bole Hadippa! (2009), where she acted alongside big names like Rani Mukherji, Shahid Kapoor, and Anupam Kher.

Sherlyn Chopra is known for her bold and straightforward interviews, where she openly discusses her sexual history, her breast augmentation, and other personal experiences. She participated in the India Kids Fashion Week of 2015, in a relatively modest outfit. Whether she will be seen in more prominent roles in the industry is unknown, but she has made her mark as a bold and assertive woman who takes initiative.
