Sanjay Khan Biography

Born : 03 January 1941

Shah Abbas Khan, better known as Sanjay Khan in the film industry, is the younger brother of actor Feroz Khan.  The good-looking man, who belonged to a Ghaznavi Pathan Muslim family, made his debut with the war film Haqeeqat (1964) directed by Chetan Anand. His next was Rajshri film’s Dosti (1964) in the same year. He has worked in many hit films like Ek Phool Do Mali (1969).  He also co-starred with his elder brother Feroz Khan in three films which were Upaasna (1971), Mela (1971) and Nagin (1976).

He then donned the hat of a producer and director for three films in which he played the leading role as well, Chandi Sona (1977), Abdullah (1980) and Kala Dhanda Goray Log (1986), the third being his last appearance on screen.

In 1990, he made India's first mega historical fiction television series The Sword of Tipu Sultan and played the lead in it. He was severely injured during an accident on the sets of the series, but after 73 surgeries and 13 months in the hospital, he went back to shoot and completed the series. Similarly, in mid-1990s, he produced and directed the TV-series Jai Hanuman (1997–2000).

In 1997, he built a five-star deluxe hotel named Golden Palms Hotel and Spa in Bangalore.

He married model Zarine Katrak and has four children with her. Farah Khan Ali, his eldest daughter, is a prominent jewellery designer. His next daughter was Simone Arora. His third daughter, Sussanne Khan, was formerly married to actor Hrithik Roshan. Son Zayed Khan is also an actor.
