Rohit Roy is a very popular face on television, who has also acted in films. He is the younger brother of actor Ronit Roy and brother-in-law to Sharman Joshi. The actor was born on 2nd October, 1968 in a Bengali Hindu family in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He has studied engineering and hotel management. 

The charming actor first became a household name with the Mahesh Bhatt-directed TV soap opera Swabhimaan (1995), where he enacted the role of a character called Rishabh Malhotra. He is well-known for his roles in other Indian television soap operas like Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand (2001), etc. 
Roy has also acted in several Bollywood movies like Kaante (2002), LOC Kargil (2003), Plan (2004), Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena (2005), Dehi Heights (2007), Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), Dus Kahaniyaa (2007), etc. 
He has also hosted TV shows like Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 2 and Season 3 Dil Jeetegi Desi Girl, etc.  He has also participated in a reality show called Yeh Hai Jalwa and Nach Baliye Season 1.
