Narendra Jha Biography

Narendra Jha is an actor who appeared both on the small and the big screen. He made his debut with the Doordarshan show Amrapali in 2002. Impressed by his performance, many directors started offering him roles for numerous TV shows, among which his portrayal of freedom fighter and Pakistan founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Samvidhan remains the most significant. The other popular TV shows of which Jha was a part are Shanti, Itihaas, Thief Of Baghdad and Chhuna Hai Asmaan.

Jha made a foray on the big screen with Srimahesh's Telugu film Chhatrapathy (2004). Though he had acted in a few Hindi films before, Jha was first noticed by Hindi film audiences in Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider (2014). After Haider, he began getting roles in mainstream Hindi films more often. He played the antagonist in Raj Bansal's Ghayal Once Again (2016). He also appeared in Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro and Abhinay Deo's Force 2 the same year. Thereafter he was seen in Sanjay Gupta's Kaabil, with Hrithik Roshan, and Rahul Dholakia's Raees, with Shah Rukh Khan, making him the one common element in the two big films that clashed in the Republic Day week in 2017.

Jha died suddenly of a heart attack in Mumbai on 14 March 2018.
