The versatile and renowned actor Kay Kay Menon was born on 2nd October 1966. He completed his schooling from St Joseph’s High School, Pune in 1981 and graduated in Physics from Mumbai University. He also earned an MBA degree from Pune University in 1988. His initial aim was to make a successful career in the advertising industry. In fact, he was a part of the making of the introductory advertisements of Kinetic Honda and Marlboro Cigarettes in India. The multi-skilled star was also quite popular as a ghazal singer in his youth. However, destiny had other plans for him. When Menon was a part of a theatre production (where he met his actress wife Nivedita Bhattacharya for the first time), he tried his hand at dramatics. He got a break in Feroz Abbas Khan's well-known play Mahatma Vs Gandhi opposite Naseeruddin Shah. After a few successful years in theatre, he graduated to television acting and eventually the silver screen. His Hindi film debut was with Naseem (1995), followed by Bhopal Express (1999). His career started to flourish in the 2000s, with spectacular performances in films like Black Friday (2004), Sarkar (2005), Corporate (2006), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Sarkar Raj (2008), and Gulaal (2009). He also acted in award winning films like Shahid (2012), and Haider (2014). His performance in the latter also got him the Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actor.

Aiming to play diverse roles, the talented actor chose to portray characters with distinctively different personalities. In this way, he not only showcased his acting capabilities, but also emerged as a consistent and prolific actor. With a number of memorable performances to his name, Menon has achieved critical as well as commercial success in the Hindi film industry.
