A trained film editor from FTII, Pune, Jabeen Merchant has had a wide and enriching career in Mumbai's film industry. Her range of work is spread across Hindi commercial films, art house films, children's film, regional films and TV shows. Jabeen has helped edit and co-script a number of international award winning feature length documentaries as well. One of her key projects was working as assistant editor on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut film, Khamoshi: The Musical (1996). A passionate cinephile, she has taught editing to students of cinema. Having been a journalist, she also writes about her passion, cinema and its various aspects.
