Harry Baweja Biography

Born : 1956

Harry Baweja is a well-known Indian film director and producer. He was born and brought up in Ludhiana, Punjab. He had interest in theatre and dramatics since a young age. He even joined Department of Indian Theatre in Punjab University and has learned theatre formally. 

After his marriage, Baweja came to Mumbai and assisted B Subhash for eight films, five out of which starred Mithun Chakraborty, the most popular at that time. After this, he made his first movie Trinetra (1991) starring Mithun Chakraborty and Dharmendra. 

The Punjabi director and producer gained fame for many commercially and critically acclaimed films including Dilwale (1994) and Diljale (1996). These films were appreciated by some of the most eminent critics. Father of actor Harman Baweja, he now owns his own production company called Baweja Movies. 

In 2014, his Punjabi 3D computer-animated historical film ‘Chaar Sahibzaade’ was well-received, especially by the Sikh community all over the world.
