Fawad Khan

Fawad Khan was born on 29 November, 1981 in Karachi, Pakistan. After living abroad in Dubai and Manchester for the first 13 years, his family made Lahore their home. Thanks to his extraordinarily good looks, this Punjabi Pathan began modelling in his teens; he has walked the ramp for leading Pakistani fashion designers and graced the cover of many magazines. He has also endorsed well-known brands in the later years. His first stint with acting was in a theatre play called Spartacus in 1999. He could also play the guitar, bass and drums. Combine that with a breathtaking voice, and you have the lead singer of the Pakistani rock music band ‘Entity Paradigm’. His first appearance on television was in 2001 in a Pakistani sitcom called Jutt and Bond. He then debuted in the Pakistani movie Khuda Kay Liye (2007), where he portrayed the character of a young Pakistani urban musician. The movie received huge commercial and critical success. After this, he continued acting for Pakistani television in full-time drama serials until 2014, when he made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat (2014) opposite Sonam Kapoor. The film received positive-to-mediocre reviews, but it brought Khan to the limelight as a talented actor and of course, his good looks did not go unnoticed. The heartthrob also received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for this role. He went on to get more offers from well-known directors and banners in Bollywood. His latest release was the successful Kapoor & Sons (2016), and his pivotal role in the film was commended by critics and audiences alike. Apart from music and acting, Khan is also a screenplay writer with a keen interest in working behind the scenes. That dream came to fruition with his co-production of the tele-film Armaan (2013) hand in hand with 7th Sky Entertainment. His creativity allows him to improvise various scenes in his acting projects. Fawad Khan is also well-known for promoting a number of humanitarian endeavours. He dedicated Khoobsurat (2014) to the cancer patients at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and has contributed to the Islamic Relief fund. He was appointed as WWF's Earth Hour campaign's brand ambassador in 2012.
