Diana Penty is the daughter of a Parsi father and a Christian mother. She was born in Mumbai on November 2, 1985. The Mass Media graduate from St. Xavier’s College began modelling at the age of 20. She walked the ramp at the Indo-Italian Festival in 2005 for Italian designers Trussadi and Ferre. She hasn’t looked back ever since and has worked with some of the best of designers like Rohit Bal, Rina Dhaka and Wendell Rodricks. A major turning point in Penty’s life was when she was chosen to replace Deepika Padukone as the brand ambassador for renowned cosmetics brand Maybelline. The young model also bagged advertisements for Garnier and Virgin Mobile (with Ranbir Kapoor & Genelia D’Souza). She has also shot for popular magazines like Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Verve and Femina. Yet another turning point was in 2011, when she was signed for Homi Adajania’s film ‘Cocktail’. The film received mixed-to-positive reviews. Diana Penty as Meera - a simple Indian girl with traditional values - was well received by the critics and masses. In addition to modelling and acting, Penty has been the Indian brand ambassador for TRESemmé and Nokia’s Lumia 510 phone.
