Altaf Raja Biography
Born : 15 October 1967
Born in 1967 in Nagpur to a family of professional Qawwals, Altaf Raja began his voice training at the age of 15. During his early years, Raja performed in a number of local competitions. Raja's high pitched voice and his soul-stirring lyrics became his trademark and in 1997, Venus produced his debut album Tum To Thehre Pardesi.
At a time of fusion hits and very talented singers in the Hindi song industry, Raja's raw voice and indigenous album stood out amongst the sounds inspired from Western music.
He has sung for several films as well which includes Ghanchakkar (2013), Toonpur Ka Superhero (2010), Company (2002), Benaam (1999), and Pardesi Babu (1998), amongst others. He also worked with the adult comedy film Hunterrr (2015).
