Ahmed Khan Biography

Talented and well-known choreographer Ahmed Khan was born in Mumbai. He is an alumnus of The Bishop School, Pune. He started his career as a child actor in Shekhar Kapur’s Mr. India (1987) where he portrayed the role of an orphan boy opposite Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. He went on to play small roles in films like Aaj ke Angaarey (1987), Raakh (1989) and gained recognition as a child artist.

Being multi-talented, Khan’s keen interest in dancing took him to choose a career in choreography. He worked as a dance assistant to Saroj Khan in Anjaam (1994), which starred Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan. Soon he choreographed songs in many well-known films such as Rangeela (1995), Taal (1999), Ghajini (2008) and Kick (2014). Khan is one of the leading choreographers in the industry today and has won many accolades and awards for his brilliant moves.

He also ventured into direction and made his directorial debut with the film Lakeer – Forbidden Lines (2004) starring John Abraham. Khan followed this with a comedy drama Fool n Final (2007) with Sunny Deol and Shahid Kapoor. He also produced and wrote the script for Paathshaala (2010).

Although he hasn’t found much success as a director, he continues to be a sought after choreographer and has recently choreographed numbers in several hits such as Housefull 3 (2016) and Airlift (2016).

Apart from choreography Khan has been judging Dance India Dance Little Masters’ third season for the first time along with Geeta Kapoor.
