Aamna Shariff is a well-known television and film actress, and model. Although she is best known for her roles in Hindi soaps and serials, she has also acted in Hindi films, including the blockbuster, Ek Villain (2014). Born and raised in Mumbai, it was during her college years that she was selected for various modelling assignments. She worked with many big brand names and appeared in advertisements for Close-Up, Clearasil, Set Wet, Nescafe, and more. She also made an appearance in a few music videos, including Falguni Phatak’s “Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya”, which possibly jet-started her career in television, and later film.

Her first acting role was in the Hindi soap Kahiin To Hoga (2003), which is one of the most popular television serials to have been aired on Star Plus. As the protagonist, her performance was critically acclaimed and won her a large fan-base, particularly because of her pairing with Rajeev Khandelwal, with whom she had excellent chemistry.

She made her film debut in Aloo Chaat (2009), costarring with Aftab Shivdasani. Later that year, she reappeared on-screen with him in Aao Wish Karein (2009). Apart from that, she also acted in Shakal Pe Mat Jaa (2011), and later on in Ek Villain (2014) which was her first hit.

She married the producer Amit Kapoor in 2013.

She won a number of awards for her television performances, the Star Parivaar Awards and the Indian Telly Awards for whenever she was active.
