5 Shivaay action sequences that could give any Hollywood film a run for its money

by   Keyur Seta

The first trailer of Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay makes it clear that the film has all the makings of a benchmark for action sequences in Indian films. But repeat viewings suggest it might even give Hollywood films a run for their money. Don’t believe us? See the sequences yourself

The trailer starts off with this breathtaking sequence. A person leaping from one snow-clad mountain to another is not something we see often in Indian films. Even the thought of watching it in a theatre, sends chills down our spines (quite literally).

If jumping off a cliff backwards wasn't vertigo-inducing enough, see Devgn revolve while he performs the stunt. Watching this scene on the big screen would be quite an experience, even though we know that VFX has played a huge part in creating the effect.

Devgn jumps onto a car when it is in motion. While doing that, he jumps on to another moving vehicle. This is risky stuff even for a seasoned stuntman.

Now, this is the best of the lot, something we haven't seen before in Hindi films. The camera is a bit away from a car as Devgn jumps through the windshield. The camera follows him inside and stops after a man falls from it. All of this takes place in just one take!

Scenes of vehicles falling from a bridge aren’t new even for Hindi cinema. But the one in Shivaay clearly stands out. The steepness and the manner in which it is shot gets you to the edge of your seat. It reminds you of a scene from Salman Khan’s Kick.
