The directorial debut of music composer, singer and director Raj Aashoo, Woh 3 Din (2022), starring Sanjay Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, and Chandan Roy Sanyal, works on the premise of an intriguing proposition.
Described as being a slice-of-life drama about a rickshaw puller (Mishra) and his passenger (Sanyal), the trailer begins with an authoritative voice leading an investigation, where Mishra is being asked about a certain person.
We see sweeping shots of Varanasi and Mishra taking a passenger on his rickshaw. Sanyal, then, makes him an irresistible offer of earning Rs 3,000 in three days.
While he and his family are excited at the prospect of earning so much money and contemplate the offer, we see images of him taking different passengers and encountering different problems. One wonders what the offer is all about as we see glimpses of the city, along with a police officer, a man on the railway tracks, and Sanyal berating Mishra when his rickshaw breaks down.
The story is seen as being that of “an uncomplicated man with few uncomplicated dreams”, as the intriguing trailer hints towards an investigation, a tussle, and a game changer.
Mishra, who is well-known for bringing authenticity to his characters, is the central character around whom the story unfolds. Rajesh Sharma is the investigating officer who questions different people.
With drone shots of the city, the scenes take us through the bylanes and create the ambience for the unfolding of the realistic drama.
Sanyal had earlier announced the wrapping up of the shoot in July. Who 3 Din is produced by Pancham Singh, while the concept and screenplay are by Seepi Jha. Jha has also written the dialogues along with Mishra and Sanyal.
The feature film, also starring Rakesh Srivastava and Purva Parag, is due to be released in theatres on 30 September. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
