The trailer of Goodbye (2022), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna, revealed that the film is an emotional yet light-hearted saga about the death of a family member, played by Neena Gupta, and its unplanned consequences.

For the trailer launch of the film, the veteran actor joined the event via Zoom and interacted with cast and crew. Later, Bachchan went down memory lane with the film’s producer Ektaa Kapoor.

Both their families have known each other for many years. Bachchan has been a friend of Kapoor’s father, veteran actor Jeetendra, and they have even worked together on films like Gehri Chaal (1973).

Ektaa, on the other hand, is good friends with Bachchan’s children Shweta and Abhishek.

Sharing her memories with Kapoor, Bachchan said at the launch, “I have seen Ektaa growing up since her childhood. And to work with her is an honour. I have seen her films and have loved them.”

Kapoor went back and shared an incident during Bachchan’s birthday party. “Since my childhood days, I have been visiting Amit uncle’s house as Shweta and Abhishek were my friends,” she said. “One of the evenings during the birthday party, Amitabh called my father Jeetendra and he said that all did Ektaa did was staring at me.”

Directed by Vikas Bahl, and also starring Pavail Gulati, Sunil Grover and Elli Avram, Goodbye is due to be released in theatres on 7 October.
