The latest song ‘Meri Zuban' from Jagdeep Sidhu’s upcoming Punjabi-language film Moh (2022) is a lyrical love ballad. Sung by Kamal Khan, with lyrics and composition by Jaani, the music of the song is by B Praak.

The two songs released previously from the film, ‘Murad’ and ‘Salooq’ are both intense songs that foreground the passion of love. Sung by B Praak, the songs are inspired by the Sufi idea of divine love.

‘Meri Zuban’ features Kamal Khan’s melodious voice in the love ballad which captures the beginnings of love, as well as its emotional intensity. The trailer of the film, released earlier, offered glimpses into the story of the film, featuring Gitaz Bindrakhia and Sargun Mehta, which seems to be one of passion and heartbreak.

The video of ‘Meri Zuban’ begins with Bindrakhia remarking that he comes to learn Urdu from Mehta, while she is learning Punjabi from him. It seems that in the process, he falls in love with her.

The romance of Urdu language is a prominent strain in the film, as it has been emphasised in the trailer as well. This would also explain the Sufi-inspired songs as well.

‘Meri Zuban’ features an overall rustic setting interwoven with a colourful set with spools of threads drying out in the sun, which forms the backdrop for the unfolding of the lovers’ romance.

Bindrakhia appears to almost be the crazed lover who does not care about the consequences of their love, while Mehta seems mindful of society and what people might think. The two are seen playing pranks on each other and basking in their love.

The song is presented by Shri Narotam Ji Studios, Tips Films Ltd and Orion Studios. Moh also stars Amrit Amby, Prabh Bains, Prakash Gadhu, and Balraj Sidhu. The film is due to be released in theatres on 16 September.
