Revathy to collaborate with producer Suuraj Sinngh for three-film deal

Their first film together will be the Kajol-starrer Salaam Venky (2022), currently under production.

Revathy and producer Suuraj Sinngh of BLive Productions are joining hands for a three-film association. Their first film together will be the Kajol-starrer Salaam Venky (2022), currently under production.

The actress-filmmaker and Sinngh will work on creating engaging content that will bring powerful human and entertaining stories to the big screen.

Revathy shared, “When Suuraj Sinngh came to me with a story, I immediately wanted to step into the shoe of a director, resulting is Salaam Venky. Working with Suuraj has been comfortable professionally and felt like family. I trust in him and BLive production’s vision completely. We share strong creative synergies, which will reflect in our forthcoming projects too.”

Salaam Venky, which was launched last October, began filming this February. Kajol stars as Sujata, a mother who persevered under difficult circumstances in a story inspired from real-life events. The film is due to be released in theatres this year.

Sinngh added, “Revathy is very creative and her work has always inspired me. Our vision is to bring powerful and entertaining stories to life. BLive Productions is grateful to collaborate with a veteran who has a cinematic experience of over 35 years across diverse cultures. We are eager to bring our first film, Salaam Venky to the audiences and our journey has just begun!"

BLive Productions is also gearing up to produce multiple films for theatres and OTT (over-the-top) platforms.

Besides directing Salaam Venky, Revathy is also acting in the Hindi film Aye Zindagi and The Storyteller, directed by Anant Mahadevan. The latter is premiering at the Busan International Film Festival next month.

She recently won the Best Actress award for the SonyLIV horror drama Bhoothakaalam (2022), directed by Rahul Sadasivan, at the 52nd Kerala State Film Awards this May.
