Maa Da Ladla trailer: Neeru Bajwa recruits a father for her son in this romantic comedy

The trailer of Maa Da Ladla (2022) starring Tarsem Jassar and Neeru Bajwa in the lead roles, the Punjabi film shows Bajwa trying to recruit a father for her son in the romantic comedy.

Directed by Uday Pratap Singh, who directed the comedy drama Main Te Bapu (2022) earlier this year, the film is written by Jagdeep Warring.

The film’s trailer begins with some light-hearted moments shared between Jassar, and comedians Iftikhar Thakur and Naseem Vicky. Both Thakur and Vicky are well-known comedians from Pakistan.

We see Neeru Bajwa taking her son to school, who enquires about his father. Troubled by the son’s questions, Bajwa recruits Jassar to pretend to be her son’s father. However, in an interesting twist, she wants to find a dad who is useless and a complete idiot. 

She wants her son to grow up to be a sophisticated, cultured boy. Instead, the son shows signs of being inspired to be a man of the land, a Jatt! The plot becomes a bit complicated when Roopi Gill enters the picture.

There are several funny dialogues and the comedians uplift the mood of the trailer. Towards the end however, the trailer becomes a bit sombre, reflecting upon family relationships that become eroded due to money.

Bajwa was recently seen in the Zee5 release, Beautiful Billo (2022), while Jassar’s last release was Khaao Piyo Aish Karo (2022), where he starred along with singer-actor Ranjit Bawa.

Maa Da Laila is presented by Vehli Janta Films and Omjee Star Studios. Due to be released in theatres on 16 September, the peppy title track of the film was released last week.
