Makers of Kabzaa release teaser ahead of Upendra Rao’s birthday

The makers of the upcoming Kannada movie Kabzaa (2022) have released the film’s teaser on the occasion of the film’s lead actor Upendra Rao’s birthday, which falls tomorrow. Directed by R Chandru, the movie also stars Kiccha Sudeep, Shriya Saran, Manoj Bajpayee, Nawab Shah and Murli Sharma. 

Speaking about the idea, the director said in a statement, “The film has already created a lot of buzz and we wanted to treat our fans with the teaser of the film. Tomorrow being Upendra’s birthday, we thought it would be a good gift to all his fans.” 

Throwing light on the film’s subject, an official statement from the makers said, “Kabzaa is a period film about the rise of gangsters in India, set between 1947 to 1984. It revolves around a freedom fighter’s son who gets entrapped in a mafia world.” 

Kabzaa marks Murli Sharma’s Kannada debut. Sharing his thoughts at bagging the film, the actor had said earlier this year, “I was a little nervous in the beginning as I don't really speak Kannada and this was a very beautiful experience and all the credit goes to my director R Chandru. He just took me through it. It's a very beautiful and very performance-oriented character and I have done some extremely beautiful scenes which I think have come out very well. My director is happy so I am happy.”

Apart from Kannada, Kabzaa will also release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Mayalayam, Oriya and Marathi.
