R Balki is a great professional with great vision, says Sunny Deol on Chup

R Balki’s psychological thriller Chup tackles an unusual subject of a serial killer finishing off movie critics who give less ratings to films. Through this film, the filmmaker has collaborated with Sunny Deol for the first time. The movie also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwanthary. 

Deol plays the character of a cop who is given the task to hunt down the killer while Dhanwanthary and Dulquer are seen as a couple in love.  

Sharing his experience of working with Balki for the first time, Deol said in a statement, “It is my first time working with Balki sir. He is really a great professional with a great vision. He knows what he wants and is very precise with his work, and that’s what made us finish the shoot within just 45 days. It was a great pleasure working with him and the whole team. It went very easy for us.” 

Over the decades, Deol has become known for playing a police officer or a soldier. With Chup, he is back in the role of a man safeguarding the law. The film will also see him team up with Dulquer for the first time. The latter recently found success in the Telugu movie Sita Ramam (2022). 

Produced by Hope Productions and Dr Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Movies, Chup is due to be released in theatres on 23 September.
