The makers of Major, a biographical drama about Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, have finally released the trailer for the film. Helmed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the film narrates the untold story of the braveheart who laid down his life for the country during the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai.
The trailer depicts scenes from his childhood days and from 26/11. It begins with a scene where the army officer crosses the Line of Control and enters Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. His parents, played by Revathy and Prakash Raj, are initially a little apprehensive about his decision to join the army, but he reproaches them, saying, ‘What if every mother thinks like you?’. We also get glimpses of some of his other missions along with training montages.
There are also some glimpses of his personal life. Saiee Manjrekar makes a brief appearance as his love interest and wife. The trailer moves into action mode with the 26/11 scenes and we see Sandeep coming into his own as he fights the terrorists and puts his life on the line to save the trapped civilians. Towards the end of the clip, we see Adivi Sesh as the hero opting to go against the terrorists alone risking his own life.
The trailer covers almost everything, while all the sequences at the Taj Mahal Hotel stand out. Prakash Raj makes a strong impact with his heart-touching and emotional speech about his son. But it's Adivi Sesh's show. The actor perfectly encapsulates the fearlessness of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The trailer also hints that we will get to see a lot of neatly choreographed breathtaking action set pieces.
Major will arrive in theatres on 3 June. Produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies, the biopic will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.
