Marathi actress Sonali Khare — who has acted in films such as Checkmate (2008), Hrudayantar (2017) and Smile Please (2019) — is all set to don the hat of producer with the Marathi film My Lek, which is being backed by her newly launched banner Blooming Lotus Productions.

The film has been written by Emeara and will be directed by Priyanka Tanwar. On the occasion of Mother's Day, Khare took to Instagram to unveil the motion poster of her first production venture.

The caption of Khare's post read, "Mother’s Day is a very special day to all of us. There’s no one in this world who doesn’t agree with the fact that our mothers are the most precious and divine relationships in our lives (sic). On this very special day, I am thrilled to announce the launch of our production house Blooming Lotus Productions. Almost magically, the subject of our first film is the sweet, sour and spicy nature of the relationship between a mother and daughter. I want to thank all my family, friends, my colleagues from the glorious Marathi film industry as well as my wonderful fans for all your love, support and blessings. Sending you all so much of LOVE".

Speaking about her maiden production venture, Khare said, "This is my first film as a producer. Mother's Day is very special for all of us. Motherhood has a special significance in everyone's life. The film deals with the delicate relationship between a daughter and a mother. On this special day, announcing my first film My Lek is a very emotional moment for me. Filming for My Lek is about to begin, and a lot of things will come out soon."

The motion poster of the film shows a mother and daughter clicking a selfie near Big Ben, hinting that the film's story will take place in London.

Mridul Sen will handle the film's cinematography while Pankaj Padghan will compose its music.
