The makers of Dharmaveer, starring Prasad Oak, Kshitish Date and Makrand Paddhye, recently unveiled the film's trailer at a grand event in Mumbai.
The film, which is all set to be released in theatres on 13 May, is based on the life of Dharmaveer Anand Chintamani Dighe, who was a senior Shiv Sena leader and the Thane district unit chief of the party.
The star-studded event was attended by many eminent personalities from the Hindi film industry, including Salman Khan, and Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
During the event, Khan began his speech in Marathi and heaped praise on the movie. However, what caught everyone’s attention was something else. In his short speech, the actor revealed the two similarities between himself and Anand Dighe. "There are two similarities between me and Anand Digheji. First, he used to stay in one bedroom and I also stay in one bedroom. And second, we both are unmarried," he said.
Later, Thackeray, who was the chief guest at the event, took to the podium to tell the audience the third similarity between Dighe and Khan. "Both Salman and Anand Dighe are Dabangg," said Thackeray. "But our Dighe was a Dabbang in real life."
Written and directed by Pravin Tarde, Dharmaveer is produced by Sahil Motion Arts, Zee Studios and Mangesh Desai, who is all set to make his debut as a producer with this film.
