Code M (Season 2) trailer: Jennifer Winget is back as Major Monica

The first season of Code M, which saw Jennifer Winget play the ferocious Major Monica, garnered a great response. With the second season, the makers seem to have taken things a notch higher in terms of its power and, of course, guts.

Major Monica is now promoted to military intelligence and she has some serious issues at hand. The trailer gives us a glimpse of an assassination attempt on a chief minister inside an army base. As the protagonist sets out on a quest to solve this case and several deep mysteries, she faces quite some challenges.

Filled with emotions, drama and thrills, this season seems intriguing. What’s also impressive about the trailer are the one-liners that hold our attention.

Winget looks quite impressive in the trailer. The actress is quite thrilled about this season, saying, “Code M was my OTT debut in 2020 and the first season was received so well, that there were no two ways about returning for a sequel. With the dearth and variety of content across platforms, there are also not too many shows where actresses get to play the hero. And to top it all, Code M revolves around the Indian army. So, I am beyond thrilled that I get to play the brave and badass Major Monica Mehra once again.

“The upcoming season delves into Monica’s journey after she separates from her husband. Entrusted with the responsibility of the Kargil Diwas event, Monica must chase after an assassin. During her quest to apprehend the culprit, a series of events unfold, which forms the core of the plot,” she added.

Also starring Tanuj Virwani and Swanand Kirkire, the show will be premiered on Voot Select on 9 June.

Code M (Season 2) has been created by Ekta R Kapoor, produced by Jio Studios and Juggernaut Productions and directed by Akshay Choubey, who also helmed the first season.

The eight-episode series has been penned by Aniruddha Guha, Aparna Nadig and Niharika Puri.

Ekta R Kapoor said, "We are confident our fans won't be disappointed, as Season 2 promises to raise the drama, mystery, and suspense to the next level.”
