Sayantan Ghosal’s upcoming crime thriller Rabindra Kabya Rahasya is based on a series of murders that took place almost a hundred years ago when Rabindranath Tagore stayed in London.
Actor Priyanshu Chatterjee will be seen as the Nobel laureate himself, while Ritwick Chakraborty plays a contemporary crime thriller writer, who travels to London undercover to unravel the murder mystery. Actress Srabanti Chatterjee essays a Rabindra Sangeet vocalist, who gets acquainted with Chakraborty.
Anandaplus, an entertainment supplement of Bengali newspaper Anandabazar Patrika, revealed that the film will depict the episode of Tagore receiving the Nobel Prize in monochrome visuals. Actors Santilal Mukherjee and Rwitobroto Mukherjee will play crucial roles in the flashback portions.
According to the report, all the murders had connections to Tagore in some way or the other. Characters portrayed by Rajnandini Paul, Bidipta Chakraborty and Sujan Mukhopadhyay will aid the crime thriller writer.
Ghosal has finished shooting the London section of the film and the remainder of the project will be filmed in Tagore’s house in Jorasanko, Kolkata.
