The shoot of the upcoming Netflix series Rana Naidu (2022), which pairs actor Rana Daggubati with his uncle Venkatesh Daggubati, was wrapped this week. Rana plays the title character while Venkatesh plays Venky Naidu in the Hindi series.
Shot primarily in Mumbai, the series follows Rana Naidu as the go-to fixer, who “does the dirty work for the top power players, making the problems of the city's celebrities, superstar athletes and business moguls disappear”.
Produced by Aaron Sunder of Locomotive Global Inc, the Indian series is an official adaptation of the Showtime drama series Ray Donovan starring Liev Schreiber as the title character. The US series was aired from 2013 until 2020.
This version also stars Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra, Ashish Vidyarthi and Rajesh Jais in key roles. The series has been directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma.
The team were elated as they posed for photographs as the project wrapped up.
The format rights are licensed by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group. The Netflix series will be dubbed in multiple Southern languages as well when it releases.
