Ankush Chaudhari to play Shahir Sable in Kedar Shinde's Maharashtra Shahir

On the occasion of Maharashtra's Day, Kedar Shinde announced the name of the actor who is essaying his grandfather, popular folk artist Shahir Sable, in the biographical drama Maharashtra Shahir. The artiste is none other than Shinde's old friend, Ankush Chaudhari.
Shinde, who is also producing the film, shared the motion poster of the film that announces the film's lead as well the release date. The biopic will arrive in theatres on 28 April 2023.
For the first time in his 20-year acting career, Chaudhari will be part of a biopic. Pratima Kulkarni has written the screenplay and dialogues while the film's music has been composed by the popular composer duo Ajay-Atul.
Krishnarao Sable, popularly known as Shahir Sable, was an accomplished singer, writer, playwright, performer, producer and director. He mostly wrote folk and devotional songs.
The film will bring the personal and untouched aspects of Deshpande’s life journey to the silver screen. Speaking about the film, Shinde said, "Through this film, we are trying to shed a light on the life of Shahir Sable. Ajay-Atul has composed the film's music. So, of course, we didn't have to work very hard to make this film."
Maharashtra Shahir is being produced by Bela Kedar Shinde. The makers are yet to announce the names of the rest of the cast and crew.
