Lionsgate Play’s next original web-series, Feels Like Home, stars a host of young actors such as Prit Kamani, Vishnu Kaushal, Mihir Ahuja, Anshuman Malhotra, Himika Bose and Inayat Sood.
Directed by Sahir Raza and written by Sidhanta Mathur, the show is about a group of four friends (Kamani, Kaushal, Ahuja and Malhotra) who move in together in a new house, away from their respective families.
They name the home Banchhod Niwas and try making it their ideal home while going through some ups and downs.
Kamani said in a statement that Feels Like Home is a mad ride, a fresh take on comedy-drama about four boys, one house and their journey to adulthood. "A youthful show that revolves around an ensemble of characters and perfectly blends the elements of romance, friendship, and daily struggles of youngsters into a beautifully knitted story.”
Kamani appeared in the anthology Aisa Waisa Pyaar (2021) in which he starred alongside Ahsaas Channa. He was last seen in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey (2022). He also has Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana director Ratnaa Sinha's next film, which is as yet untitled, in the pipeline.
He added, “We have a set of incredibly talented, passionate and hardworking people whose aim is to bring something fresh to the audiences. A heart-warming and yet rib-tickling tale of friendship and togetherness. I am very excited for everyone to watch, laugh and cry and then cry as they laugh with us in the show.”
Vishnu Kaushal, who plays the character Avinash, is a famous content creator on social media and is making his acting debut in this show. Speaking about his journey, he said, “Being a creator on the internet, the idea that I got to act in a web show still sounds wild to me. Even though I have been making videos for six years now, the idea of acting professionally was super scary. In 2021, I thought I’ll at least start auditioning and not overthink it. Soon after that, I got a call from Sid Mathur [showrunner] asking me if I’d want to audition for the role of Avinash. I obviously took that leap.”
He added, “I honestly couldn’t have asked for better people to work with and better projects to work on. From Sahir and Sid guiding us through scene by scene to my super hard working boys Anshuman, Prit and Mihir, it has been an incredible learning experience for me. I have enjoyed every day of showing up to the set and living life as Avinash and I hope all the fun we had on set translates on camera! I’m the most excited for my friends to see me act though.”
Feels Like Home will be streamed on Lionsgate Play from 10 June.
