Pan Nalin’s Chhello Show wins Best Film at International Gujarati Film Festival


The third edition of the festival was held from 20–22 May in Atlanta, USA.

Pan Nalin’s Chhello Show (Last Film Show) was named Best Film while Gandhi & Co. was awarded Best Children’s Film at the recently concluded third edition of the International Gujarati Film Festival last weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.

Okhamandal: Ek Anokhu Andolan took the award for Best Documentary Film while Parnetarr was adjudged Best Short Film. The Pratik Gandhi-starrer Vitthal Teedi (2021) was named Best Web-Series and veteran actor Paresh Rawal was declared the IGFF Icon of the Year.

Supported by Gujarat Tourism, the festival was resumed after a gap of two years due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Chhello Show opened the festival and several prominent dignitaries attended the opening ceremony. The filmmaker Pan Nalin was on hand to present his film. He was joined by Mike Mason, mayor of Peachtree Corners, Dr Swati Kulkarni, India's consul general in Atlanta, and festival chairman Dr Naresh Parikh.

Filmmaker and festival director Umesh Shukla, along with jury members Gopi Desai and Jay Vasavada, mingled with celebrities like Ishani Dave, Pooja Zaveri, Chetan Dhanani, Devaki and filmmaker Niraj Joshi.

Vijaygiri Bava’s 21mu Tiffin (2021) closed the festival on 22 May.
