The makers of Jugjugg Jeeyo, starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, have finally dropped the trailer, which promises us a fun-filled family entertainer with an ample dose of melodrama.
The trailer depicts the big fat wedding of Kukoo (Dhawan) and Naina (Advani). However, we soon find out that the couple is now planning to get a divorce. However, there is another big fat Punjabi wedding in the family and they decide to drop the bomb after the wedding. But everything turns upside down when they land in India. Kukoo finds out that his father (Anil Kapoor) is having an affair with another woman and is planning to divorce his mother (Neetu Kapoor).
The trailer reminds you of Hindi films of the early 2000s which are full of chaos, comedy, melodrama and foot-tapping numbers, elaborate Punjabi weddings and of course a sermon about why relationships fail and the sacrifices one has to make to make them work.
In the trailer, one also sees Neetu Kapoor commenting about how a broken marriage is a result of many unfinished quarrels between a couple.
Dhawan and Advani have been paired for the first time and they seem to have decent chemistry. But it's Anil Kapoor who steals the limelight in this trailer with his perfect comic timing. Maniesh Paul and YouTuber Prajakta Koli also make brief appearances in the trailer.
Directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the family comedy-drama will hit the theatres on 24 June 2022.
