Gray trailer: Shreya Dhanwanthary battles with the dilemma of consent

Written and directed by Sakshi Gurnani, the short film has been released on Amazon MiniTV today.

Consent is crucial, but people often fail to understand when and where to draw the line. The short film Gray (2022), starring Dia Mirza and Shreya Dhanwanthary, addresses this very issue.

Dhanwanthary and Chaitanya Sharma's characters have been best friends for six years. Sharma's character has begun to develop romantic feelings for her, but she does not reciprocate. Then suddenly everything changes for the worse. Her happy, bubbly persona turns into one of a depressed woman battling with the dilemma of consent. What was that incident that changed her life?

Written and directed by Sakshi Gurnani, the short film, which was released today on Amazon miniTV, the free OTT platform on the Amazon shopping app, centres on the struggle one faces while differentiating between friendship and consent.

Girish Prabhu, head of Amazon Advertising, said, “We at Amazon miniTV always try to bring impactful stories that would entertain and enlighten audiences. We know about consent, talk about it, but how well do we understand or implement it, [that] is the real question. We are proud to bring this meaningful story to our library of award-winning short films."

Gray is now available on Amazon MiniTV. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the short film.
