Vivek Dubey's Funral sweeps awards at first Konkan Film Festival

The first edition of the Konkan Film Festival ended last weekend by announcing its winners.
First-time director Vivek Dubey's Funral (2022) swept the awards, winning as many as seven, including for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor (Aroh Velankar).
The award for Best Story and Best Screenplay went to Ramesh Dighe, also for Funral. The film bagged two more awards — Best Supporting Actor for Vijay Kenkare and Best Editing for Nilesh Gawand.
The award for Best Actress went to Akshaya Gurav for Rivanawayali (2022), while the award for Best Actor in a Negative Role went to Abhijeet Khandkekar for Me Pan Sachin (2019).
The film festival, held at Malvan in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, was attended by artistes Siddharth Jadhav, Prathamesh Parab, Vijay Patkar and Alka Kubal Athalye. In all, 38 Marathi films participated and 14 were shortlisted by the judges.
