It’s been 15 years, but the popular title track of Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) — which was composed by Pritam and featured lyrics by Sameer — has once again resurfaced for the sequel. This time around, it has been recreated by composer Tanishk Bagchi.
Singer Neeraj Shridhar, who sang the original track, voices Kartik Aaryan — who takes to the dance floor surrounded by dancers and croons the familiar lyrics. Dressed in black, with a black cat to match, the actor shows off his swagger in the moves choreographed by Bosco-Caesar.
This new version features new antara lyrics penned by Mandy Gill (Jam8) and a new antara melody composed by Pritam as well. The title track is focused on Aaryan only — co-stars Tabu and Kiara Advani are missing from the number — and has a rap portion by Mellow D and Bob.
The 2007 Hindi film was directed by Priyadarshan and starred Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Ameesha Patel, Shiney Ahuja and Paresh Rawal. This sequel, which sees the return of the supernatural entity Manjulika, has been directed by Anees Bazmee.
The horror-comedy has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Anjum Khetani, and Krishan Kumar, under the banner of T-Series and Cine1 Studios. The family entertainer, distributed by AA Films Pvt Ltd, is due to be released in theatres on 20 May.
