After the wait of two years, the release date of the historical drama Baloch has finally been announced. The Pravin Tarde-starrer will arrive in theatres on 5 October, on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.

The makers have also unveiled a poster that shows a group of captured Maratha soldiers and women looking demoralized. Only Tarde has a look of determination on his face. The film will also mark the acting debut of National award-winning director Bhaurao Nanasaheb Karhade. The film has been directed by Prakash Janardan Pawar.

The third battle of Panipat took place in January 1761 between the Marathas and the forces of Ahmad Shah Abdali of Afghanistan. Thousands of men and women were taken to Balochistan after the latter won the war and they were enslaved and forced to convert to Islam.

Baloch is being produced by Jivan Jadhav, Jitesh More, Nemaram Chaudhary and Santosh Bali Bhongale while Mahesh Karwande, Sudhir Waghole, Ganesh Shinde, Vijay Aldar and Datta Kale are on board as co-producers. Vishwagunj Pictures and Kirti Varadkar Films are set to present the film.

The film will clash with the Kangana Ranaut-starrer Tejas (2022)

Meanwhile, Tarde will be seen in another historical drama, Sarsenapati Hambirrao, which is based on Hambirrao Mohite, a general in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army. Apart from essaying the titular role, Tarde also wrote and directed the film.
