KGF: Chapter 2 becomes second film after Baahubali 2 to enter Rs1,000 crore club in India

The Yash-starrer has also collected over Rs1,000 crore, across languages, from the domestic market.

Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) is having a dream run at the box-office. The Yash-starrer, which has grossed over Rs1,200 crore worldwide and counting, has amassed Rs1,000 crore from the Indian market alone.

KGF: Chapter 2 is only the second Indian film to collect over Rs1,000 crore from the Indian market after SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017). The film's Hindi version alone has collected more than Rs400 crore nett.

Entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to reveal that KGF: Chapter 2 had entered the Rs1,000 crore club in India.

KGF: Chapter 2 was released on Amazon Prime Video on Monday in a pay-per-view model. The release was announced with a poster.

In the sequel to KGF: Chapter 1 (2018), Sanjay Dutt played the primary antagonist. The second chapter follows the journey of Rocky-bhai (Yash) as he rises to rule a goldmine. The film also features Raveena Tandon in a crucial role.

KGF: Chapter 2 was released on over 10,000 screens worldwide, the biggest release for a Kannada film. It has been dubbed and released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam as well.

The second part in the franchise was released amid high expectations following the success of the first part, whose credit was attributed to Yash's presence. But at the launch of the trailer for KGF: Chapter 2, the star said director Prashanth Neel deserved all the credit.

"I am very attached to my industry," Yash said. "I should receive the least credit for my film. Honestly, I am happy we have done something with Chapter 1. KGF happened because of Prashanth Neel. Lot of people give me credit, but it is bullshit. It is Prashanth Neel's film. He deserves all the credit. He can even make first-timers act like thorough professionals. And he loves his heroes and actors."
