Amarjit Singh Saron’s Punjabi movie Saunkan Saunkne (2022) has passed its Monday test with flying colours. After making Rs9.21 crore nett on its first weekend in cinemas, the film collected Rs2.20 crore yesterday, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The film starring Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira thus made Rs5 lakh more than its opening-day collection. Whenever this happens, it only means the film is having a firm grip at the box office.
Saunkan Saunkne’s grand total currently stands at Rs11.41 crore nett. The film is now expected to do well over the rest of the week.
Meanwhile, the Mahesh Babu-starrer Telugu movie Sarkaru Vaari Paata (2022) not only continued its downward journey, but also saw a major drop in numbers on its first Monday.
Directed by Parasuram, the film made only Rs5 crore nett yesterday. After a big opening of Rs34 crore, the film had slumped to Rs17 crore the following day and never recovered thereafter. Its grand total now stands at Rs92 crore, which is average return for a Mahesh Babu film.
On the other hand, the Hollywood film Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness has collected a decent Rs17.75 crore in its second week so far. Its total collection in India stands at Rs120.64 crore as of yesterday.
