Tarun Dudeja’s short film Tasalli Se is being premiered on Amazon miniTV, the free OTT platform on the Amazon shopping app, today.
Produced by Yuvaa Originals, Tasalli Se, a tale of friendship, stars Nakuul Mehta and Naveen Kasturia and revolves around two bosom friends, Somesh (Mehta) and Ranjan (Kasturia), who fall out after a spat on social media but reconcile after 12 long years.
The short film showcases how the strongest of bonds can be rocked by misunderstandings but can also be mended with trust and loyalty.
As both Somesh and Ranjan mature with time, they begin to accept their individual perspectives by engaging in a heathy conversation with each other.
The premiere date was announced with the trailer for the short film which begins with Somesh and Ranjan reciting a couplet from Mirza Ghalib’s ghazal 'Yeh Na Thi Humari Qismat Ki Visal-e-Yaar Hota'.
Somesh and Ranjan meet after a long time and discuss their equation in retrospect. Their conversation highlights the importance of accepting differences of opinion. As they resolve their past conflict, the reconciliation turns into a celebration.
The trailer ends with another couplet, this time by Muneer Niyazi. The use of Urdu poetry lends a refreshing dimension to the intimate bond between two male friends.
“This story of how two best friends reunite after a long time makes this film very relatable” said Girish Prabhu, head of Amazon Advertising. “Featuring some of the country’s finest talents, Tasalli Se is a heartwarming story that will leave audiences nostalgic, reminding them of friends with whom they have lost touch. We look forward to their response as they appreciate another impressive story from our award-winning content library.”
According to Nikhil Taneja, co-founder and CEO of Yuvaa Originals, in a world where we are quick to judge each other over our social media opinions, the short film, written by Sajal Kumar and directed by Dudeja, shows what we may lose out on if we don't focus on love and friendship.
Taneja said, “We hope Tasalli Se will compel the audiences who watch it to make a call to long-lost friends. We are delighted to associate with a platform such as Amazon miniTV which takes charge in showcasing such impactful short stories and that too absolutely free.”
