Vidyut Jammwal supports Kenny Basumatary’s Assamese film Local Utpaat

Vidyut Jammwal. who announced his production house Action Hero Films over a year ago, is also backing regional cinema.

The actor-turned-producer has sponsored the Assamese film Local Utpaat (2022) by extending financial support.

Writer-director Kenny Basumatary shared, “I am thankful to our favourite action star who was kind enough to extend financial support to our dream project Local Utpaat. He's a country boy for a reason and we are grateful for his contribution towards this special film.”

He added, "I mean, he's such a big star. To my surprise, he called me back after I requested help and asked me to send him my account details. This was of immense help because I managed to pay my fighters something more than what we had budgeted.”

The action film, starring Bonny Deori, Poonam Gurung, Jonny Deori, Montu Deuri, and Kenny DB, was released in theatres all over Assam on 13 May.

Jammwal is awaiting the release of Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II and working on the projects IB 71 and Sher Singh Raana.
