Released in March this year, SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film Roudram Ranam Rudhiram aka RRR became a runaway hit not just in India but also around the world. The Hindi version of the Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer performed extremely well as was the case with Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), which was also helmed by Rajamouli.

RRR will be premiered digitally on Zee5 on 20 May in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The digital release of the Hindi version hasn't been announced yet.

Set in the 1920s, RRR is a fictional tale based on freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, played by Ram Charan and Jr NTR. The film is about Bheem’s mission to free a tribal girl who has been bought by the British. After being against Bheem initially, Ram finally joins him in the mission.

At the success party of RRR last month in Mumbai, Ram Charan and Jr NTR hinted at a sequel. Reacting to this, Rajamouli had said, “They [Ram Charan and Jr NTR] got out of RRR pretty quickly. I am still trying to cool off from the heat generated from RRR. Let it cool down. Of course, for me, it would be a great pleasure to make RRR 2, not because of what RRR has done at the box office but because I will have more time to spend with my brothers. That would be more exciting for me.”
