Hit: The First Case, starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, to be released on 15 July

Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra wrapped up shooting for Hit: The First Case last month and the film will be released on 15 July.

A Hindi remake of the 2020 Telugu film of the same name, Hit – The First Case is a thriller that revolves around a cop who is on a quest to find a missing girl. The original was directed by Dr Sailesh Kolanu, who has also helmed the remake.

The original film starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma and received critical acclaim and was successful at the box office when it was released in February 2020. Its sequel, Hit: The Second Case, has gone on the floors.

So, the Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra-starrer could have a sequel if it is received well.

The actor’s last release, Badhaai Do (2022), was greatly appreciated while the actress won hearts with her last film Love Hostel (2022) and Pagglait (2021) before that. Malhotra will be seen next alongside Vicky Kaushal and reunite with Dangal (2016) co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh in Meghna Gulzar’s next film. Rao has Raj & DK’s Guns & Gulaabs in the pipeline.
