Looking at the production design, it looks like the characters are in the office of a private company or an investigation agency.
Before its theatrical release, the film will have its world premiere at the London Indian Film Festival on 23 June.
Trade website Variety.com in a report dated 10 May quoted producer Ektaa R Kapoor as stating, “Dobaaraa is our first film under Cult Movies, our new film division which is set to tell compelling, edgy and genre-bending stories. I feel ecstatic for Dobaaraa and its presence amidst various international celebrated films from around the globe and I can’t wait to showcase the film to Indian audiences on 1 July 2022.”
Dobaaraa will mark the second collaboration between Pannu and Kashyap after Manmarziyaan (2018). The film is said to be an adaptation of the Spanish film Mirage (2018), directed by Oriol Paulo. Dobaaraa is being jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Cult Movies and Sunir Khetarpal’s ATHENA.
Apart from Dobaara, Taapsee will be seen essaying the role of a cricketer Mithali Raj in Srijit Mukherji’s Shabhaash Mithu (2022), which is set to be released on 15 July, Rajkumar Hirani's social comedy Dunki, where she will be seen sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan and also her first production venture Blurr.
