The Kashmir Files (2022), which has seen its fair share of controversy, became the first Hindi film to cross the Rs300-crore mark in recent times. The blockbuster is set to have its digital premiere on 13 May.

The film which will be streamed on Zee5 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada will also have Indian sign language interpretation for the hearing-impaired. The move has earned the streamer a place in the International Book Of Records for being the first OTT platform to release a Hindi film with sign language interpretation.

Recently, a special screening of the film in Indian sign language was held, which was attended by 500 people who are hard of hearing. The screening also saw the presence of the film’s cast and crew, including director Vivek Agnihotri, actress Pallavi Joshi and actor Darshan Kumar.

Agnihotri said, “We are glad that The Kashmir Files reached out to and resonated with so many people across the world and now with Zee5’s one-of-a-kind move, the movie will be accessible not only in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada but also in Indian sign language. This is a story which must be told, and I am glad that Zee5 is helping us do that with their reach and network."

Kumar, who played Krishna Pandit in the film, received a lot of appreciation for his performance. The actor said, “I believe everyone should know about this story as it’s a reminder to the people of the world to stand united and fight against brutal acts of terrorism. It gives us a message to live in harmony and make this world a better place to live in. As this movie is very close to my heart, I am extremely happy that The Kashmir Files has reached our specially abled audiences and I hope to receive a lot of love from them.
