For an action-packed biopic of a warrior, it is necessary to have an energetic, rousing song that enhances the protagonist and gets the audience involved emotionally. ‘Hari Har’ from the Akshay Kumar-starrer Prithviraj is one such track.
Adarsh Shinde melodiously highlights the special qualities of the 12th-century warrior Prithviraj Chauhan. But the chorus singers also contribute a lot.
Composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has made good use of traditional instruments. The music reaches a crescendo when the hook with the word ‘Prathiraj’ arrives. During the trailer launch of the film, director Chandraprakash Dwivedi said that in the book Prithviraj Raso, the ruler is also named ‘Prathiraj.’
Varun Grover’s lyrics do justice to the image of Prithviraj Chauhan. His references to the mythological tales suit the song perfectly.
As far as the video is concerned, the scenes of the war are appealing.
Produced and distributed by Yash Raj Films, Prithviraj will be released in theatres on 3 June.
