Director Atanu Ghosh has announced his upcoming film Aaro Ek Prithibi, starring Kaushik Ganguly, Anindita Bose, Shaheb Bhattacharjee and Bangladeshi actress Tasnia Farin.

Set in London, the film will depict the search of four individuals for a peaceful abode in the busy city.

According to Ei Samay, a Bengali newspaper, Farin will be playing the role of Pratiksha, who has been by herself since she was 11. A relationship brings her to London, but upon reaching there, she still struggles to find a space she can call her home.

Ayesha (Bose) shifts to London after her marriage but soon she gets separated. Then the pandemic not only takes away the security of a roof over her head but also turns her world upside down.

Ganguly, on the other hand, will be seen as Srikanto, a vagabond. Away from his home since childhood, Srikanto has travelled across many countries and reached London, where he ensures his survival as a street singer.

Aritra (Bhattacharjee) lost his parents in an accident in his childhood. Like the three other characters, he too looks for a sense of belonging.

Tamsen Courtenay’s book Four Feet Under: Thirty Untold Stories of Homelessness in London was the National award-winning director's source of inspiration. “My film won’t show the London we typically see in most Bengali films. The locations we have seen during the recce are quite different," said the director.

Debajyoti Mishra will compose music for the film and Appu Prabhakar will join the team as the cinematographer.

Produced by Eskay Movies, Aaro Ek Prithibi will go on the floors on 20 May.
