Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus (2022), starring Ranveer Singh in a double role, is due to be released worldwide ahead of the Christmas holiday on 23 December.
The film will clash with the Tiger Shroff-starrer Ganpath - Part 1 (2022) and Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas (2022), with Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, which are also being released on the same day.
The big-budget entertainer, based on William Shakespeare's classic play The Comedy Of Errors, also stars Varun Sharma in a double role, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and a large ensemble cast including Siddharth Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar, Murli Sharma inhabit the world of the circus.
The filmmaker announced the feature as a ‘Christmas gift’ for audiences.
The poster shows the cast, with Singh and Sharma in their twin avatars, under the spotlight. From their getup, it seems likely that the comedy will feature several misunderstandings and antics.
Speaking about the announcement, Shetty said, “Cirkus is a complete family entertainer. There’s no better time than the Christmas holidays to celebrate the film in cinemas everywhere.”
Cirkus, presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and T-Series, is also being produced by Shetty.
