Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani (2012), which turns 10 today, remains one of Vidya Balan’s best films to date. The actress looked back at the film during the trailer launch of her upcoming movie Jalsa, which will be released on Amazon Prime Video on 18 March.
Answering a question asked by Cinestaan.com during the press conference, Vidya said, “Every film is special to me but I still remember every single day of the shoot of that film. That film has given us so much and we will forever be grateful.”
The actress also finds it difficult to believe that Kahaani is already 10 years old, “I was just telling Vikram [Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment] when we were waiting outside. We had a screening of the film on the day of its release in one of the theatres. And we were waiting outside for the screening to end so that we could come in and meet the audience. But [it has been] 10 years [since then] My God! I was told this recently in an interview and I couldn’t believe it; it feels like yesterday.”
Directed by Suresh Triveni, whose last film Tumhari Sulu (2017) also starred Vidya, Jalsa is a thriller where the actress plays a journalist. She is joined by Shefali Shah who essays the role of her maid.
