Abhishek Chaubey is among the best directors of our time, says Manoj Bajpayee

After winning acclaim as Srikant Tiwari on Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man, actor Manoj Bajpayee is jumping back into a web-series with Abhishek Chaubey’s Soup.

The upcoming Netflix web-series will be Bajpayee's third collaboration with Chaubey after the dacoit film Sonchiriya (2019) and the segment Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa from the anthology Ray (2021).

Soup, which is currently in production, pairs the actor with another powerhouse performer, Konkona Sensharma. Chaubey is the showrunner and director of Soup which features Sensharma as an incompetent cook wanting to open a restaurant while Bajpayee is her suspicious, unsupportive husband.

Speaking about their collaboration, Bajpayee said, “It's always fun working with Abhishek, and he is one of the best directors of our time and we really get along very well on the set and with his team.”

Besides Soup, Bajpayee is expected to return as Tiwari for a third season of The Family Man and is awaiting the release of Despatch, an investigative crime thriller directed by Kanu Behl.
